Very interested in very small submicron range particles? Only
interested in sizes greater than a few microns? Interested in
a broad range of respirable particles?

The expected concentration range.
Relatively high concentrations in the milligrams/m3 range? Medium
range up to a few hundred micrograms/m3? Low concentrations of
a few micrograms/m3?
4.
The types of aerosols to be sampled (if known).
Wet and sticky particles? Dry and fluffy ones?

The source of particles.
Aerosols in still air? In air moving in a pipe? To be drawn from
a distant source?
